Serving Tray

A serving tray is a shallow platform designed for carrying things. It can be fashioned from numerous materials, including silver, brass, sheet iron, paperboard, wood, melamine, and molded pulp. Serving trays range in cost from inexpensive molded pulp trays which are disposable, to inexpensive melamine trays used in cafeterias, to mid-priced wooden trays used in a home, to expensive silver serving trays used in luxury hotels. Some serving tray examples have raised galleries, handles, and short feet for support.

Finding that perfect gift for someone can definitely add a huge amount of stress to a season that is supposed to be all about giving and all the feel goods. This year we are going to try to skip the store lines as much as possible and try our hand at some homemade gifts. We are going to bring you as many ideas as possible to cover all kinds of friends and family on your shopping list. To start off we thought we would bring you a pretty easy idea : Soap.

Everyone uses it (we hope?) and if you make your own, you can tailor it to fit the person you are giving to! Everyone wins! Sure you could just go out and buy a bar a soap, but for some reason that just seems a little weird. But when you personally make someone some? Halloween is just around the corner and with it comes the long held tradition of pumpkin patching! After walking through a field of endless choices of giant orange squashes, most people like to carve their new decoration. I have seen some pretty awesome carvings, but I have zero talent when it comes to sculpting a masterpiece. I’m a triangle eyes kind of girl. I also have to admit that orange just isn’t my favorite color and goes with absolutely nothing in my house! I thought this year we would try to give our pumpkins a chic makeover without the guaranteed horrible face job they would have if I carved them. Currently New York Comic Con is underway and in this household we are all about the comics and sci-fi (although we hide it well!). Right now as I type I am watching me some Smallville, maybe not the most credible take on Superman but Hulu just added all of the seasons and its raining so I feel it justified. Plus Tom Welling is pretty descent to look at amiright? So to celebrate this event, I rounded up some pretty simple and pretty super comic inspired crafts to get us through this week.
